Consultation: You’ll meet with one of our Salt Lake City dentists for a consultation. We’ll determine if dentures are right for you and go over all your treatment options – there may be more than dentures.

Exam: Once you decide, we’ll conduct a thorough exam to ensure you don’t have any oral health problems that need to be taken care of first, like gum disease.

Imaging: We’ll take a 3D digital image of your mouth with CBCT technology. This captures your gums, bone, tissues, and nerves to help us determine the best place for your implants.

Customization: We’ll also take an impression and photos to design your custom-made denture. You and your dentist can discuss the smile style you’d like, including the shade of white and tooth shape.

Test fit: Once the denture is made, we’ll have you come back to try it on and make sure it looks beautiful, fits comfortably, and functions harmoniously with your bite.

Place implants: We’ll remove your teeth and place your dental implants. You’ll leave our office wearing your new denture – just not secured to the implants until they’re healed.

Adjustments: After three months of healing, on average, we’ll uncover your implants and make any adjustments to your denture as needed.

Will The Procedure Hurt?

At Legacy Dental, getting an implant-retained denture is a pain-free experience.

Your comfort is of high priority to us! We always offer local anesthetic to numb the surgical site, and if you would prefer, we also have sedation options to help your mind and body relax.

After the implant procedure, your mouth may feel tender, but this is usually manageable with over-the-counter medication.

How Long Will It Take?

The implant procedure will take around two hours.

I’ve had a fairly intense dental phobia for most of my life, that combined with years of addiction and severe depression really took a toll on my mouth and on my smile. Years ago I started the process of getting dentures with a different dentist and I had such a bad experience that I never wanted to set foot in another dental office again. Then last year when my remaining teeth started to fail, I reached out to Legacy Dental after seeing an add. At my first appointment Dr. H and his staff immediately put me at ease, there was no judgment and it was clear that they knew what they were doing. Going to the dentist is usually very stressfull for me. I've always been very comfortable with legacy dental. They work with my hectic schedule and busy life. I went in for Wisdom tooth pain. They had a last minute cancel and I got in there, same day! Which I was extremely thankful for cuz of the intense pain I was experiencing. I was in and out of there, WITH them being able to do the extraction, and X-ray in less than an hour! They were awesome! And! It was a fraction of the cost of what other offices were charging for the procedure. Especially cuz I don’t have insurance. Amazing staff, excellent dentist! 100/100 for me.

I love Legacy! They are everything you need and more. I've needed emergency dental work on a few occasions and they have always gotten me in same day, within the hour most of the time.
