Dental Crowns in Salt Lake City, Utah

Restore the beauty and integrity of your smile in just one visit!

What Is a Crown?

Discreetly re-establishing the function of your smile.

When your tooth becomes cracked, broken, or damaged due to trauma or decay, a dental crown is often the ideal solution. This common restoration offers both functional and cosmetic benefits to your smile.

A dental crown is similar to a cap, which is custom-made to protect your damaged tooth. The crown is created using modern technology by our partner dental lab, Keating Dental Arts. Using tooth-colored materials, your state-of-the-art crown is designed to the desired shape and shade and will fit comfortably onto your tooth.

Our experienced Legacy dentists place the crown in-house and make sure it blends into your smile perfectly. You can feel confident in your new restoration and enjoy a fully functioning smile.

Placing Your Crown

Dental crown procedure

The procedure for placing a dental crown is very simple:

First, Dr. Campbell will assess your tooth and advise you on whether a crown is an ideal option.

Second, he will clean the area and take impressions of your damaged tooth.

Third, he sends these impressions to our partner lab for design and creation. At this stage, we may place a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

Fourth, the returned crown is placed over your tooth and bonded into place.

If a crown is urgent or your time is restricted, we may recommend a CEREC® crown. Learn more about these same-day crowns below.

CEREC® One Visit Crowns

Same-day dentistry at its finest!

Using CEREC® dental restorations, you can be in and out of our office with a permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay, or veneer! This is a helpful option for those who have a hectic schedule or need an urgent restoration. Using the latest CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) technology, we can design, create, and place a crown right here in our office. During the procedure, an optical image is taken of the prepared tooth, and a three-dimensional virtual restoration is designed and sent to our milling machine. The machine creates the crown and your Salt Lake City restorative dentist can place it. Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. With CEREC®, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish.

  • ‘‘We have had nothing but the best care from DR. CAMPBELL! We trust him fully with our dental care. One Sunday, a few months ago, he went on and beyond the extra mile by coming in to take care of our son’s bad abscessed tooth. We highly recommend him to friends and family. The entire staff is very friendly, helpful and professional.’’

  • ‘‘I’ve had terrible dental experiences in my small town. I now drive three hours to get to Legacy Dental and it’s worth it - every time. They are efficient, kind, compassionate, professional, and honest. Their billing folks are top notch. I’ve recommended other people to them and they also agree. Legacy Dental is worth the long drive. ’’

    Kristen J. (Legacy Dental Patient)
  • ‘‘Every visit I’ve had has been positive and encouraging. I have been given thorough informative explanations whenever I’ve wanted to understand something better. All of the staff has been pleasant and friendly. It seems clear to me that people enjoy working here. The positive energy makes the whole experience less stressful. I can honestly say I’m looking forward to my next cleaning!’’
