If you have an abscessed tooth, it is definitely an emergency. If you are having problems with your dentures or partials, it may not necessarily be an emergency, but it is something you’ll want to get into the dentist to take care of as soon as possible.
If you have to wait to get into the dentist, there are some things you can do at home to relieve your gum pain:
Another thing you can do is make a homemade dental spray with water and 5 drops of the essential oil of your choice. The ones that have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties are clove, oregano, and peppermint. This is good to have on hand for when your gum pain flares up and you are not able to get to the dentist quickly.
