Find out why so many people are choosing this modern treatment.

Do you dream of having a smile free of stains and discoloration? Would you love to see a stunning smile every time you look in the mirror? With teeth whitening at Legacy Dental, you can brighten the shade of your teeth and remove stains in a single visit. As one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures, teeth whitening or bleaching, is the process of removing stains from your teeth and making them lighter. Teeth whitening can be completed by polishing a tooth, or a procedure called microabrasion. Teeth whitening is also accomplished by applying gentle and safe whitening agents to the teeth. A cosmetic dentist can help you decide what the best method to get the results you want is.

How you can prevent teeth staining after whitening?

Here are some common ways that you can prevent teeth staining.

  • Curtail Tobacco intake
  • Drink less drinking coffee, tea, or red wine.
  • Cutback on sodas
  • Regular brushing and flossing
  • Eat vitamin-rich food

In short, you need to prevent the staining of your teeth. This includes using tobacco products and drinking coffee, tea, or red wine. You also need to check if you have any genetic predisposition to the yellowing of your teeth.

Teeth Whitening Options

Three choices are available at our office.

MICROABRASION
Like teeth whitening, microabrasion is used to remove stains and discoloration from your teeth. This procedure involves applying a special material onto your tooth surface, and gently removing the stained layer.
IN-OFFICE BLEACHING
This method works best if we plan on two one-hour visits that are spaced approximately two weeks apart. During the two weeks between appointments, we have you whiten at-home using custom-made trays. We can provide amazing results with this teeth bleaching method.
AT-HOME BLEACHING KITS
This involves making impressions of your teeth and fabricating a custom-made whitening tray. Then together, your dentist and you will decide when you will wear the trays and for how long to deliver the most effective results.
OVER THE COUNTER
If you would prefer to whiten your teeth without our direct help, we have had patients get good results with Crest White Strips or Ultradent Tres White. However, please read the labels carefully and feel free to ask us for any advice.
