Porcelain Veneers in Salt Lake City, Utah

Our first-class cosmetic dentistry treatment in Salt Lake City, UT.

What Is a Veneer?

Here is what you need to know.

A veneer is a custom-made ceramic or porcelain facing that is bonded onto a tooth. It can make a tooth look whiter and cover our common imperfections. It can also change the shape or alignment of a tooth. It can be used to treat worn teeth or crooked teeth too.

This cosmetic dental procedure is very comfortable from start to finish. Many times your teeth require no preparation or minimal preparation. We will make sure that the process is entirely comfortable. You can also be sedated for the tooth preparation if desired.

Veneers: How Are They Placed?

Find out how long this procedure takes and what happens at each appointment.

Our dental Veeners procedure involves your participation in the process of improving your smile. Each of our dentists has dedicated many hours to this pursuit so you can trust that you will be happy with the final result.

First Appointment

To begin, you, our lab technician, and the dentist will have a consultation to determine your smile. We also estimate your exact wants and needs to improve your smile. We’ll take impressions or models and take some photographs of your teeth.

Second Appointment

Your teeth are lightly prepared so that the veneers do not appear bulky and blend in naturally with your smile. Temporary veneers are placed that mimic the planned size, shape, and color of the new veneers.

Third Appointment

We will evaluate your comfort, function, and satisfaction with the temporary veneers. This often skipped-step helps us make sure that your new smile is just what you want.

Final Appointment

The temporary veneers are removed and replaced by the final veneers. Once approved these will be bonded into place. Now all you have to do is smile until your cheeks get tired. Generally, this process takes 3-4 weeks from start to finish.

William J. Behlke, DMD

Helping you overcome any barriers that are stopping you from smiling.

"There's more to a smile than lips and teeth."

Dr. Behlke grew up in Mentor, Ohio. Before becoming a dentist, he worked as an accountant for seven years. Why the career change, you ask?

He liked what dentistry had to offer: fulfillment, challenges, growth, and building meaningful relationships every day. So he went back to school and received his DMD from Roseman University College of Dental Medicine and attended NYU Langone’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program.

Since then, Dr. Behlke has found many more reasons to love being a Salt Lake City dentist. He understands that you may not love visiting the dentist, but he makes it his personal responsibility to help you feel as comfortable as possible. His kind, funny, and easy-going personality is a bonus too!

To stay current on dental trends and news, he maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry

Outside of the office, Dr. Behlke enjoys being outside as much as he can. He also likes to follow professional sports, especially anything related to Cleveland or Ohio State University.

Been going to Dr John Campbell for 15+ years. I won’t see anyone else. Every visit has been with as much care and concern as the my first visit. He is thorough, super professional, and won’t settle for anything less than perfection. Thank you Dr Campbell!

Compared to my previous (money hungry) dentist, this place is like a golden palace of greatness! Everyone is friendly and accommodating, and they make sure you're comfortable throughout your visit whether it's a routine cleaning or a crown replacement (I had both). I definitely recommend Legacy Dental! Thank you!

Common Patient Questions

Five FAQs about porcelain veneers.

Veneers are among the longest lasting restorations in dentistry. Most studies have found that they will last 10-20 years. We have seen many cases that have lasted much longer. How long they last will largely depend on how you take care of them. The most common cause for the premature failure of a veneer is clenching or grinding your teeth. If you are prone to this condition and are considering veneers, a nightguard may be recommended.
The best dental treatment is usually the most conservative dental treatment. Veneers are more conservative than crowns and not as conservative as orthodontic treatment. Together we can help you better understand any potential risks and make the right decision for you.

The cost will vary according to the number of teeth requiring treatment and your individual needs. Our skilled dentist provides a fee and some payment plan options before starting any treatment.

Since veneers are generally provided for cosmetic purposes, most patients do not have a benefit for this procedure. Usually, other dentist services are covered by insurance.

Common cosmetic solutions include:

  • Bonding
  • Teeth Whitening
  • Orthodontics, Braces, or Invisalign®
  • Tooth Reshaping
  • Combination of any of the above
