Why did you choose dentistry?
I enjoyed science classes in college, especially those classes relating to the human body.
What is the best part of your job?
I love working with patients and teaching them how to care for their oral health and how it relates to your overall health.
What do you do outside the office?
I like to read, exercise, camp, hike, cook, bake, and spend time with my family.
Fun Fact: I fell out of a moving car at the age of four. Seatbelts were optional then, and car seats were virtually unheard of (it’s a wonder any of us survived).
I graduated from Dental Hygiene School at SLCC in 1999 and started at Legacy Dental shortly after. I have worked as a hygienist since starting at the practice but took on the role of Practice Manager a couple of years ago. I still am lucky enough to see patients once a week but have had the opportunity to learn many new things while working for a practice that makes me feel incredibly proud.
Why did you choose dentistry?
I always knew I would enter the healthcare field. I grew up loving my visits to the dentist. Dental hygiene seemed a profession that would provide the ability to make a difference for patients, as well as a good work/life balance.
What is the best part of your job?
I have two equally favorite aspects of my job: my patients and my co-workers. They provide me with a great deal of happiness. I love catching up with patients, learning about them and their families, as well as developing lifelong friendships with co-workers.
What do you do outside the office?
If I am not at work, I am usually at a baseball game watching one of my two boys play. Baseball has overtaken every vacation, weekend, spring, summer, and fall evening as well as all our extra money, and I would not have it any other way. I try to soak up all these moments that seem to fly by too quickly.
Your Hero: My parents. They are so kind, compassionate, and loving. They have provided me with the most wonderful example of a strong marriage, great parenting, loyalty, and hard work; among so many other admirable attributes.
Why did you choose dentistry?
I chose to be a dental hygienist when I was just 12 years old. I was assigned to do a report on a professional job for school. I chose to interview a dental hygienist because I always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child and loved my dental team.
I was intrigued by their office, the tools they used, and the work that they did. It all seemed very exciting. After my report, I felt dentistry calling, and my mind was made up. I love the detailed work and the act of starting and completing a task.
What is the best part of your job?
Helping people rediscover their beautiful smiles, and seeing it change their lives.

My husband and I enjoy spending time together at the movies, trying new restaurants, and going to the theater. We also love traveling, going to concerts of our favorite bands, and, of course, watching Netflix.
Fun Fact: The theme song for my life would be “I Lived” by OneRepublic.
Legacy Dental is my home away from home. It’s where I grew up. I take pride in doing a good job and living our practice’s mission statement: “Together with kindness, knowledge, and skill we achieve excellent dental care.”
Why did you choose dentistry?
I grew up being surrounded by dentistry. My father was a dentist, Dr. Galen Campbell, and he showed his passion and love for the dental field daily. I knew I wanted to do something in medicine – the health sciences were always my favorite subject. Dentistry felt like a place where I could serve patients, use my love for the health sciences, and share the devotion my father had in the field.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy being an educator. As a hygienist, my job is to educate patients about their oral health, and all that it implies. I love my interaction with my patients and getting to know them personally.
What do you do outside the office?
My spare time includes a lot of family time. I love to immerse myself with those whom I love. I also like to run and be outdoors (as long as the weather is nice).
Fun Fact: I used to be a musical theater major and lived in New York City for a summer doing an internship.
Why did you choose dentistry?
Growing up I always thought I wanted to be a Vet due to my love, some may call it an obsession, for animals. After one day of shadowing in a veterinary clinic I knew immediately I did not want to work on sick animals. What I did know, was I still wanted to work in medicine and care for people. I started exploring other options.
I always had a wonderful experience at the dentist and looked forward to going. I knew this wasn’t the reality for most people. I decided I wanted to help increase their satisfaction of their dental experience. I wanted to assist patients to grow comfortable with the dentist while making them feel great about their smile as well as improving their health through oral hygiene.
What is the best part of your job?
I engage in great conversations multiple times a day with each patient that comes to the office to get their teeth cleaned. I meet people I otherwise never would meet and hear interesting stories. I learn from a patients; how to travel, where to buy the best donuts, what books to read. I’m constantly acquiring knowledge from my patients and look forward to their visits every 6 months.
