Suffering from single or multiple tooth loss? Legacy dental offers dental implants to close any gap in your smile. Dental implants are replacement teeth that could take the position and function of your natural tooth. At our dentist office in Salt Lake City, we consider them an excellent treatment for restoring your smile. A dental implant is a predictable way to replace missing teeth without damaging other teeth.
Our orthodontist treatment involves inserting a titanium screw carefully into the jawbone. After the titanium screw undergoes osseointegration, it becomes a permanent part of your jaw. It is then used to support a single permanent restoration, or a denture, or an entire mouth of new beautiful permanent teeth. Dental implants can look very natural and function like your real teeth.
During our implant surgery, high-quality titanium is permanently inserted into your jawbone. Titanium is among the most biocompatible materials that exist. There are some risks associated with dental implants, but in the hands of an experienced dentist, those risks are minimal. Our salt Lake City dentists have the experience of hundreds of dental implants surgery and have taken many hours of continuing education in implant dentistry.
Raised in Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. Jonathan Campbell currently lives in Holladay. He is married to Melanie, and together they have five kids (three girls and two boys). His father was a dentist, and they practiced side by side for 13 years. His youngest sister Katie has also followed in her father’s footsteps and is a dental hygienist at Legacy Dental.
Dr. Campbell has always enjoyed working with his hands and has a strong desire to help people. He knew the health profession was right for him and, after working with his dad for a summer, he discovered dentistry was the perfect fit.
He loved seeing how his dad helped alleviate pain and improved people’s smiles. In fact, that is Dr. Campbell’s favorite part of his job as a Salt Lake City dentist, seeing the happy tears and smiles of a patient who thought they were beyond help.
This compassion reflects his desire to help all patients. He is committed to providing the best possible care, which has led him to be a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Campbell enjoys spending time with his family on vacation. At home, he is busy supporting his kids, with dance, sports, and school. Getting away with his family is the best. Our doctor also enjoys being in the outdoors, exercising, coaching soccer, and his church service.
With proper care, your dental implant post will last your lifetime. It’s a wise investment!
Although more expensive upfront than alternatives, implants last longer and require less maintenance.
Implants prevent bone loss caused by missing teeth, which also prevents premature aging.
Replacing a missing tooth avoids issues like adjacent teeth shifting or bite discomfort.
Finally, enjoy your favorite foods again! Implants are designed to withstand the pressures and motions of chewing.
Your end result will blend seamlessly with your natural teeth so that no one will notice.
At your first appointment, we’ll have a consultation together to determine your wants and needs. Together, we can discuss the options you might consider for tooth replacement.
This visit is all about planning the specifics of your care. We’ll take a 3D x-ray and digital scan of your teeth. This will allow us to evaluate the exact amount of bone available and plan the exact position of the dental implant.
At the next appointment, your dental implants are placed. Some patients choose sedation dentistry for this appointment. However, the placement of the dental implant feels similar to other routine dental procedures, and many prefer only local anesthetic. Often a tooth or denture is placed on the dental implant immediately after it has been placed.
The dental implant is then allowed to heal for a few months. After that, final impressions are made, and the permanent teeth or dentures are fabricated and attached to the dental implants. The whole implant process from start to finish usually takes three to six months.
When contemplating dental implants in Salt Lake City, it is essential to find the right dentist for you.
